Volvo has always been known for making stronger cars, by building the new XC60, Volvo has claimed to invent the safest car in the whole decade. Volvo has stood by its century long reputation of building cars that are strong in body and performance. By giving an open statement in press they have proved that they are indeed stronger in building cars giving strong performance.

The new XC60 has been invented as a baby brother to its earlier XC90 model which is an SUV. The XC90 got great response from the Swedish firm. The new amazing machine will mark its world premiere at the Geneva Motor show sooner. The new model would be made available to prospective buyers of Europe in autumn and early next year for North American clients.

The word DNA has always been used so reputedly in Automotive circles that would stand out for “Do Not Adandon” which meant boxy shapes, boring device that always found no takers in the market. The Debut of the new model bought another research for the word DNA, and according the Volvo’s design director Steve Martin, the word DNA would better transform into Volvo’s “Dramatic New Approach”. As per the design director of the Volvo, the car has been charged for being more emotive and more energetic compared to its earlier models of Volvo. He goes on to say that they are elevating the design efforts at the plant and bring DNA to great levels by getting in to the visual volumes literally. Steve proudly says the new XC60 radiates a clear Volvo presence from far across distances.

Steve’s boss, Volvo’s president and CEO Fredrik Arp briefly said that Volvo is a great car which is not only the safest but brilliantly stunning as well. The new machine has several intelligent safety systems protecting the individuals driving the car putting them in the safer mode. The new safe technology which Volvo rightly calls as City Safety is one of the best and unique that is capable of helping the driver avoid the effects or rather reduce the effect of low speed impacts that are very common in traffic and urban highways. Its all automatic, even if driver is not in his senses, the car recognizes the immediate danger, the machine gives notices and car brakes itself.

According to Volvo official, this is one of its type feature which no manufacturer in the world has ever introduced. The same technology is likely to be held in other models standing in the same range for example the vehicles like XC90 SUV and S80 Sedan. This will bring in more takers for the cars which are not only luxuries but provides safer control over accidents caused due to jamming up or roll overs. The Volvo C30 is the next car being built which has been give a sporty look for sport lovers. Through the Volvo XC60 model, the company thoroughly claims to attract more customers an active urban lifestyle as told by Arp. Seeing the market growth and capitalism, buyers are increasing even in small car as well luxury segment, the company expects to sell 80,000 XC60 models in entire Europe and North America.

The car is going to get launched in 3 engines in European markets, they are turbocharged 3.0 liter producing 285 horsepower, there would be 2 variants of 2.4 liter D5 turbo diesel engine which is capable of producing 185 horsepower and 163 horsepower respectively and the all wheel drive is the standard model with a front wheel drive version of 2.4 liter engine that would be launched later. The XC60 model would be built at the company plant of Volvo cars at the factory in Ghent in Belgium. The sales target for the car each year is subjected at 50,000. The 5 top markets for the new models are Great Britain, USA, Germany, Russia and China.
