
Get larger with the new Yukon!
The new GMC’s Yukon shares it platform to that of a Full size Sports Utility Vehicle, the new model is a revised version from the year 2007. There have been only few minor changes made to the new version. The new machine boosts of 116 inch wheelbase and it carries a total length of 202 inches. There are various versions and specifications to go with to buy a new Yukon, they are available in Yukon XL and Denali XL versions, they have exterior dimensions which look same as that placed in the regular standard models, the only difference being that they are 14 inches longer at wheelbase and are longer by 20 inches in its overall length.
The new model features good trims to both its Yukon and Yukon XL versions, these models are available in SLE that is cloth trim and also SLT leather trim. They have again 2 options to go with one is rear or 4 wheel drive configurations. The third row seating arrangement comes standard on all of Yukon XL models and also on normal Yukon models. The Denali models comes equipped with standard specifications as in other models, but even the standard versions comes with more luxury features which is good news for the people wanting to buy cars with less money but more amenities. The standard version comes with a 6.2 liter engine boosting the power of 380 horsepower V-8 engine, it also has a 6 speed automatic transmission.
The regular Yukon models comes with a standard 4.8 liter having the rating of 295 horsepower, it also comes with a 5.3 liter boosting the rating of 310/320 horsepower and another option is 6.0 liter producing the power of 366 horsepower. All of these engines are V-8 engines, they come with 4 speed automatic transmissions. The 5.3 liter V-8 engine offers E85 that is flex fuel capability helping the users have a smooth, undisturbed drive. The other version of Yukon, which is Yukon XL boosts 6 speed automatic transmission.
The standard features on all the 2008 Yukon models are traction and stability control features, all of the new models have curtain airbags that is one of the standard key features of 2008. The Base Yukon SLE model comes with split front bench seat which allows more capacity and easy movement of passengers and cargo. All the Denali version would be made available to the public later this year.
The new Yukon model is a two mode hybrid system which is co-developed by BMW and DaimlerChrysler, the machine uses an electric motor which is in conjunction with Yukon’s V-8 engine and it also contains 4 speed automatic transmission. Few changes were even made to Yukon’s aerodynamics which help to streamline the looks of the new machine. The new machine has a smooth hood, new improved front fascia, grille and also a reshaped rear fascia. The new Hybrid version is capable of pulling 6,000 pounds as its maximum limit and the other standard versions can pull up to 8,200 pounds.
