The new sporty Chevrolet Equinox is one of its kind compact crossover which shares it platform and various other technical details with Pontiac Torrent. The new 2008 series for Equinox carries minor changes from its earlier Sports models. The new sports machine gets it name as per the changes it has received for this year that is the updated appearance and the looks, the new machine is a V-6 engine producing 263 horsepower of rating. The new Equinox is a 6 speed automatic machine. The automatic controls in the new machine included tap shift controls which are semi manual gearchages, 18 inch wheels, body color trim, it has a tuned exhaust note, etc. The new sporty version offers front and all wheel drive.

The other trims available in the new Equinox are LS and LT series, they are being offered with 2 options in front or either all wheel drive. The new machine’s standard engine is V-6 rated machine with 3.4 liter engine and boosting the power capacity of 185 horsepower, it perks up with a 5 speed automatic transmission. The new look of the machine contains MacPherson that struts the front wheels, all these features are geared with an independent 4 link rear suspension having coil springs at the rear end which contributes to vehicle’s smooth ride and enhances the user experience which improves the handling characteristics.

The new machine offers smooth ride with smooth driving experience, you can even adjust the back seat of the vehicle as much as 8 inches fore and aft giving ample of space, this could be done for maximizing the space utilization in rear passenger room or a cargo space. The rear seats of the vehicle and also the front seats can folded to create expanded space for carrying more cargo inside. Even the height of the space inside can be adjusted with the help of height adjustable cargo panel which have various versatile usages like is can be used as shelf, picnic table or a security cover. All the standard versions of the new machine contains curtain airbags, audio system, DVD entertainment system, these are some of the major changes that are visible.

The new 2008 Equinox is a sports car creating an altogether a different unique niche for itself, it includes new features like styling tweaks, sports suspensions, 6 speed automatic transmission producing 263 horsepower. The seats of the new version have big side bolsters, 4 spoke leather steering wheel with exclusive monotone Ebony trim. The remote starting feature which is standard on all the versions have power door locks having remote keyless entry, it has power windows. The new sports version comes equipped with an auxiliary jack and XM satellite radio, it also has 6 speaker stereo with CD player for entertainment purposes. The safety features of the new machine includes StabiliTrak electronic stability control system with 4 channel antilock brakes and also tire pressure monitoring.
